This is a VERY tentative and rough plan. It is a work in progress! I am trying to think through how we section off units of writing and then applying the tools we gathered to where they seem most appropriate.

This is a tentative scope and sequence for a unit in my ELD 2 Reading class. I integrated writing take aways and various sources of technology students can use to present their reading presentations.

Butte College LEAD
I feel fortunate to have an immediate application for what I learned during the NCWP SI. This coming semester, two colleagues and I are leading a semester-long professional development institute for our department. Although this institute was already in the works, participating in the summer institute has helped clarify what we want for our participants and given us a bunch of good materials to take back to our colleagues as Butte. Most importantly, the work we've done has helped me realize that the work we do in pro dev needs to go below the course objectives to get to what we really want for our students. We needs to focus on not just preparing our students for the next level or for their college work. Additionally, I've realized that we need to bring in some new stuff. We do a lot of professional development work in our department and at the college. This particular work, however, is particularly important, and it's important for us to get as many people there as possible. We need to offer some new ideas, activities, theories, and resources.
